What You Are Going to Do
As an Learning Experience Designer at Kodland, your primary responsibility will be to create and enhance engaging, interactive, and impactful online programming and digital skills courses for children and teens. Your role will involve:
- Course design and development: Craft comprehensive, age-appropriate lesson plans, presentations, interactive activities, and games. Your focus will be on making programming and digital skills exciting and accessible, fostering a love for technology in young learners.
- Refactoring and improving existing courses: Regularly review and update current course offerings to ensure they reflect the latest educational practices and technological trends. This includes incorporating feedback from students, parents, and educators to continually improve the learning experience.
- Collaborative innovation: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other educators to brainstorm and implement new ideas that enhance content delivery and student engagement. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with educational research and integrate new findings into your designs.
- Training and support: Develop resources and conduct training sessions to help educators effectively deliver your designed content. This may include creating guides, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support to ensure high-quality teaching standards.
- Quality assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain the high standards of Kodland’s curriculum. This includes regular assessments of course materials and teaching methods to identify areas for improvement.
What We Expect from You
- Relevant experience: At least 2 years of experience in designing educational content, with a focus on online learning environments. Experience with programming and digital skills education for children and teens is highly desirable.
- Pedagogical expertise: A deep understanding of educational theories and methodologies, particularly in relation to digital literacy and technology education. You should be able to translate complex concepts into digestible, engaging content for young audiences.
- Creativity and innovation: A strong ability to think outside the box and introduce novel approaches to learning that captivate and motivate students. You should be comfortable experimenting with new ideas and learning technologies.
- English language: at least on Upper-Intermediate level. Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. You should be able to clearly articulate educational concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- You’re a fan of games! You believe that games are not a distraction but the best way to engage kids in learning and get them "hooked" on education.
- Project management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality educational content.
Not a Requirement, But an Advantage
- Knowledge of child psychology: Understanding the cognitive and emotional development stages of children and teens can help tailor educational experiences more effectively.
